You know what? After following coverage on other shows and from other sources, I tend to agree with you, at least in regard to this case. She is such a bulldog and often rude to people who don't agree with her and to her staff for no apparent reason. She can also be self-righteous and sensationalizes certain things that don't really amount to much. I stopped watching her a couple years ago but went back with this trial. I'm thinking I'll phase her out again soon.

I've watched twice this week since you watch... it takes one hour to rehash just 2 or 3 basic pieces of information... and they splice together a bunch of pieces of tape that don't really make sense...
I thought the first time I watched was just a fluke, but after watching again tonight, I'm thinking.. fool me once, shame on you.. fool me twice... yea... |

Its is only gonna' be what they make it out to be like everything else in life.

| The tour de force performance by Nancy Grace several years ago was concerning another toddler murder case by a mother , ironically in and around the Orlando area. Trenton Duckett, approx. age 2, was reported missing by his father. He and the child's mother Melinda Duckett were in an acrimonious relationship. I forget whether they were ever married, maybe divorcing, but definitely there were issues on either custody or visitation/child support. Melinda who was in her early 20's, as in the Casey Anthony case, was dependent upon her parents for childcare and financial help. She,too, liked to party and live the free-wheeling, college party girl life. Her boyfriend reported that he last saw the child with Melinda at her apartment. The father was being denied access so,IIRC, he was seeking or had won court-ordered visitation and attempted to retrieve the child. The mother dodges him at every attempt in defiance. He reports her to authorities. The last time anyone hears about the child the mother has him in her vehicle. I think she makes some excuse that the child is with relatives out of town or some lame excuse that Trenton is not available. She will not produce the child even when the police talk to her. The grandparents have reported the child as missing. Now enters Nancy Grace who is rabid about the case and repeatedly challenges the mother to come on the show to answer questions about where she has secreted the child. After much prodding and accusations that the Mother knows where the child is and there is reason to believe foul play. The mother, who is like a deer in the headlights, finally agrees to an interview. I believe she is called a person of interest in the disappearance of her child. Nancy is unrelentless and confrontational to the mother. She virtually accuses the Mom of doing harm (or murdering the child). Nancy confronts her with info about her car being tracked by GPS all over the area and especially having been seen or tracked in the Florida swamp. The mother withers under the stress imposed by NG and nearly loses it when NG flat out asks her, DID YOU MURDER YOUR SON, TRENTON? THe mother stops the interview horror-stricken. The police are very near in making a determination of foul play and the theory is that the mother has killed the child out of spite and disposed of his body in the marsh. A search reveals no body but IIRC they might have found trace evidence of the child's presence in the swamp. A day or two after the appearance on NG, Melinda Duckett is found shot to death, an apparent suicide. Her parents sue Nancy Grace for IIRC harrassment and contributing to her death by making false accusations. The child is never found and is believed to have been killed, tossed in the swamp, and devoured by alligators. I think they even attempted to check the 'gators in the area to see if any undigested remains can be detected in the alligators. The suit is tossed or settled out of court. Nancy when asked about the death of the Mother and her aggresive interview...gives a answer and look like only she can....Whooooo me? All I did was ask her a question...Nancy has got to be the best at looking incredulous that she would ever pressure anyone into even going over the edge!!! What a moment! LOL! A cat that ate the canary look was priceless! |

| Stella, you know I wrote that post on animal arses just to get the reaction I did! When Rock says it is bad, you know it is bad! LOL! I am sorry I grossed you out though! The reason I have not posted about the Anthony case the last couple of days is because I have had oral surgery-two sessions- the last several days and I have suffered. Too distracted to concentrate honestly. But I have tried to keep up with the case which is bordering on the absurd!!! Lee, the brother, really was ridiculous and irrelevant, and her mother saying she searched for "chloroform" bordered on perjury. I despise these people and what sympathy I had is gone. The ploy of spending all the time and money evaluating Casey's competency was disgusting. Anyone who has to be defended with every gimmick, obstructive maneuver, and diversion is pitiful...and obviously GUILTY! Any attorney who stoops as low as Jose Baez needs to be disbarred and I think he might be after he is sanctioned. The people of FL should not be amused by the cost of this trial. When is enough enough? I like the trial judge and the prosecution team. The networks and print media should have to pay the State of FL for this ratings boost! Nancy Grace and Jane Velez-Mitchell are banschees. IMO! My favorites are Jean Casarez(sp?) and Beth (oops! pre-senile name loss). I think I am watching this trial because it may make me feel that my life is not as dysfunctional as I thought it was.(Ha!) My life is too simple now, really, to be that mixed up! LOL! I've been blessed in many respects...just rather lonesome and bored at times! No self-pity though! All I have to do is look around to keep myself in perspective on that issue! XOXOXO to you! |

Hi Star! I am just going to highlight some of your post that I agree with and I may add some editorial comments, too. I got a laugh out of part of it. Honestly, I'm getting fed up with the trial - it's turning out to be a circus, zoo and parade of strange characters - big downer, but I will still keep up with it on a daily basis with more neutral coverage and less sensationalist programming.

| It seems that everytime I go for a snack or early supper they bring up the smell of decomposing bodies, rotting Veleeta, decaying salami, or putrifying tobacco spit. It got so bad the other day when Jeff Ashton keep saying the word "stink" that I swear I could smell some odor wafting from my TV...I hurriedly got out my stash of air freshners, Lysol (White Linen), Neutr-Air (Fresh), and CitruScent (Mixed Fruit) and nearly asphyxiated myself. Enough with this testimony about anything decomposing...and although Dr. Vass from the UT Body Farm was very good, the machine he invented, the Sniffer, that could replace cadaver dogs, was the limit...Puh-leeze! And the PhD who killed the pigs just to simulate a decomposing body in the trunk of the car...made me furious...I do not want to hear about animals being used in medical research...I do not care about any "for the good of mankind" ethos! Oh, my Stella, I hope I did not get too graphic again for you! My mind is not in the gutter often...somehow lately I can not think of euphemisms or less colorful words! |
