I figure we can use a thread for trouble shooting, Tech Q&A, Forum Code experiments, and things of that nature since I have a need for space to work out some bugs @ the present time and I don't like using other threads to deal with these issues.
Consider it done.

Something is wrong with my laptop Explorer and Firefox browsers that show a lost internet connection or blank window when I try to sign in.
Rock opened a side door of sorts just to see if this would work.
He has entered this post for me with my permission in an effort to resolve the issue.
(ROCK Speaking here)... I am quite the net geek but I've been trying to fix this unit for 2 weeks and so far no dice. Dialidol is the only site giving her problems and I don't know why yet. She thinks I post enough for both of us anyway!!! This post is just a TEST. |

I use Firefox to access all Internet (including DI) and have no such problem. I am awake this late, however, because I am having a problem with my new cell phone. I signed back on to my PC to see if the phone would accept a text message and it will not. The darn thing is "frozen" on a screen saying"Hold on while we connect to the network . . ." and won't budge. The battery is low and it won't either charge when I plug it in or drain out completely. Looks like I'm screwed . . . Rock, you don't have any suggestions, do you? Man, this really ticks me off!
STELLA
p.s. It's so late, I'm just going to try to charge it while I get some sleep. Here's hoping all is well in the morning. . . |

I tried her puter from Explorer first ... no dice Stella. I logged on to one of my laptops as her and deleted that test and moved the first post from the Twilight Zone to this new thread. It is in her windows somewhere, not her browsers or Dialidol.
In your case I would remove the battery for 2 minutes, put it back in and then try to charge it from another outlet if it still don't work.
Beyond that I would prolly throw it out in the frozen yard in the direction of my cell provider, call them on the landline and tell em' where they can retrive their phone and where to stick it when they find it next spring.
(I hope you got it working today, why not give ME a call just to make sure?)

Thanks, Rock! I woke up with a headache and the so-called phone did not charge overnight. I would try taking the battery out but I have no idea how to open this thing up to get it out. This phone is less than two months old! I may take you up on the other idea of throwing it out in the snow, but I do need to get a working phone ASAP. I should have known when this phone was marked down to less than half of its original price that something was up. . . Oh well, I better get going on looking for a new phone . . . and, oh yeah, if I had your phone number, I certainly would call you. In technical matters, I need all the help I can get!
STELLA
p.s. Well okay, I admit that I probably need help in more than just technical matters and I am very grateful to have friends willing to help. . . |

All right! Things are looking up! (still have a headache, though). My cell phone is fixed thanks to the nice "English is my second language" gentleman at Virgin Mobile! He helped me figure out how to remove the battery and get the phone to work again. He is also going to send me a brand new battery free of charge to be received in 2-3 days. So, no need to toss the thing into the snow (just yet anyway) and I don't have to fork out $$$ on a new phone or battery yet either. Sometimes things do work out for the best. . . Keeping my fingers crossed, just in case. . .

yea I don't think there is a PDF button..
I "some people" use "free flv converter" to download the video then use "AoA audio extractor" to pull the audio out of the video...
there are probably more elegant solutions now, but I just haven't used this kind of stuff in a couple of years |

How in the world did my reply get placed BEFORE yours, especially when I was replying to you in the first place?????
looks like we're in a time warp.. DI time has been 2 hours off (for me) for a while but your posts look 1 hour off, while MY posts still look 2 hours off.. hmmmm
I sent Jim a message about the time being off yesterday.
Mine is corrected now.
I was just wondering about yours, you ain't that far away from Ohio.
I'm even closer! Detroit area!!!
This is really bizarre folks. |

Roi, your edit came up on Active topics in "Real Time".
I've never seen anything like this around here.
I'll look in again after Judge Judy in an hour...
( One Hour Passes )
OK, I'm back waiting to see if you are back on track...
Oh the suspense!

I'm still guessing here, but I think its like I posted in the edits...
Jim must have changed the time... my browser still had a valid session and the session cookie must contain the "last post time" so as long as I didn't close my browser, I was ok.. but posting at the wrong time...
then when I restarted my browser, any new post was suddenly BEFORE my "last post" and the flood control wouldn't let me post because the difference in time between last post and current post was "less than 30 secs"...
anyway... now everything seems ok |
