My modem will not detect the slow busy signal on the configurator test number. It will detect a fast busy, and it detected the busy signal from the vote numbers the other night.

What modems seem to detect the busy signal the best?

I do not know a specific modem that works best but DI was primarily designed with a Conxeant D850 56K v.9x DFVc Modem.

What you could also try is adding under "Extra commands" (I think that's how it's worded, don't have it on this PC) the string AT, X6

That's supposed to force detection of all busy signals, seemingly with all modems? Anyway that worked for mine, which wasn't detecting any type of busy before. What I also had to do though was open HyperTerminal and do an ATZ, then ATDT18664365701 and I saw BUSY pop up in the HT window. After that, the "Is DI working?" test passes every time now.

Strange, but true..
