Robin and Olivia were third to perform. The theme this week is movie songs and Robin selected Staying Alive. This song is clearly in Robin's wheelhouse but I don't think it was a good selection for Olivia. To me the performance was mostly forgettable but they came up with a real cool ending. The Judges all loved it though. After three performances John Glosson in first meaning he is safe. Olivia is in second and Jordan is in third.
John and Bridget do a song I just freaking love. What's Love got to do with it. Bridget did a very nice job channeling some Tina Turner. This song is all about attitude and you have to give it that attitude but not over do it. John and Bridget blended wonderfully and should move into second if the judges have their sheet together.
As I expected Bridget moved into second. The judges except for Kelly were gushing about her performance. I am guessing Kelly might have prevented her from moving into first.
Now we get to find out if J Rome is Bulletproof as he will be performing I will Always Love You with Jennifer. I so hate the Whitney version of that. If he comes out in first after this he is going to be locking in on this title.
They have a Brilliant way of performing it. J Rome just starts out singing acapella in the middle of the stage. No music no dancers no lights. Jennifer comes in on the chorus. They were not so over the top as Whitney which I am very thankful for. I still think John should hold on to first. J Rome will probably get second or first after this I am guessing.
Jason and Kelly do Come What May from Moulin Rouge. Jason is a good singer IMO. He is a pretty boy which isn't going to hurt him. He didn't come strong enough IMO. Kind of overshadowed by Kelly. I will not be surprised if he is in bottom two.
Nope Jordan is the one gone. She seems truly sad at her elimination. I actually feel for her and I usually don't care much. She seems genuine not one of those sappy girlie eliminations. When asked what was her highlight of being on the show she just said singing with her. If I were a singer I could only imagine how awesome it would be to sing with Kelly.
Now reviewing the next episode songs from the 2000s. The mentors come out performing Freedom. I didn't recognize Kelly at first in Blonde hair and a new cut.
First up is Jennifer and John and he is singing a Josh Groban song. I think this is very cool because if there is any famous singer that I find John is similar to it is Josh Groban and I have already stated that in previous posts. John displays his great voice here but also shows some amazing tenderness that is part of the song. This time he not only has the great voice but the presentation is his best ever.
Voting is on the public now so the judges can make their comments but they no longer have any control. The judges made one big mistake letting Meleana go and keeping Olivia. Other than that not much else to say.
Olivia looking very pretty on this show. She sounds fine but seems a bit stiff. I still see her a level or two below the other remaining contestants but good looking lady and singing a very popular song choice I would not be surprised if she lasts another week or two. I must say Robin sounded real good on this song.
