Of course, we all have our opinions and likes/dislikes, but the naysayers spout so much crap it obfuscates anything reasonable some of us try to say...Thank you for saying it much better than I could have,Dawn!...

I hope I'm not the only one who had to google that?

My daughter said the exact same thing to me when the camera panned over to him...he didn't look happy that's for sure.

I DO know that I would not pay to see any of the performance from tonight...

If you have the chance to go, go... you won't be sorry. The kids are a million times more laid back and actually give some great performances. The whole production is quite amazing. I think you'll find it very entertaining.

I couldn't agree more. I actually said he reminded me a little bit of Paul Simon too and laughed out loud when Steven Tyler said it too. I loved it!! The gutiar, the drums, all of it!! I thought it was the BEST Phillip performance the whole season....almost.

I'm glad someone else saw it!! He looked like "aww sh*t, Phillip was better than Jessica. I don't want Phillip to win!" That was my interpretation of his face anyway, lol.

Although I want Jessica to win by a slight margin (actually, I wanted someone to win who didn't make the final two), I have to agree that Phillip's "single" was superior to Jessica's. She kinda got screwed. Phillip's was so catchy...it reminded me of Chris Rene's song "Young Homie" on X Factor (the one he wrote). The kind of song that will give you an earworm.

is it just me, or did anyone else read this twice (or more) hoping to find little nuggets of linguistic gold?

I had the impression that the finalists' potential singles were written for the finalists. Apparently not. Then they definitely could have done better for Jessica.

Voting should be over by now I think. In the "official prediction" DI still hasn't called a winner and the gap between Phillip and Jessica did narrow while Phillip is still in the lead. The raw numbers show all three lines for Phillip received more votes than the three lines for Jessica, so I'm hoping this means Phillip will be the winner.

What do you think, Rock? You might be watching and reading our posts by now . . .

east coast voting has been over about 40 minutes now... west coast has a couple of more hours...

and there's 4 lines for each with all 4 of P2's having more volume than any of Jessica's...

Phillip did a better job with this song IMO . . .but yeah, it looks like this year there were no "original" songs written specifically for the finalists. That's a twist they didn't bother to mention. It seemed to me, from what Jessica said, that they were given a choice of songs and Jessica picked one she thought showcased her voice best. Obviously, the judges disagreed (and so did I and others here). Just one more example of Jessica's inability to pick a good song for herself and one where Phillip once again did pick a good one for himself. JMHO.

Oh! Okay, I'll be checking that tomorrow then. Guess I didn't count the number of lines. I just saw that all of Phillip's were first and then all of Jessica's. I suppose that could all still change . . . hope that doesn't show up in a nightmare for me . . . I'm just going to clear my mind and go to bed now . . . goodnight!
