Here's who got my votes in the years that I voted:
Season 1: only watched the finale
Season 2: watched some at the end but didn't vote
Season 3: didn't watch or vote
Season 4: Carrie Underwood
Season 5: Katharine McPhee (after my love, Elliott, left)
Season 6: Blake Lewis (after my fave, Melinda, left)
Season 7: David Cook
Season 8: Kris Allen
Season 9: Crystal Bowersox
Season 10: Lauren Alaina (she never really lived up to the buzz)

This could be fun. Wow you admit to voting for Blake Lewis ? Was that out of liking Blake or despising Jordin? I only voted one time and it was for David Archuleta.

3. nobody. Once I knew that Fantasia was going to win I didn't watch any more. I think Diana Degarmo was runner up so her if I had to.
4. Carrie Underwood
5. Kat McPhee but Daughtry was clearly IMO the best contestant
6. Jordin Sparks
7. David Archuleta
8. Adam Lambert
9. Crystal Bowersox but big props to Siobhan Magnus for being the most interesting female ever on AI and close to equal talent with Crystal.
10. Scotty but Pia was much more to my liking

Lance, it was because Blake was the least offensive to me...at that time, Jordin did not appeal to me at all ("Jordin Sparkles" signs in the audience haunt me). I liked his attitude and creativity, and voted because he was the only one who was enough of an artist to change a song around and make it work, even if his vocals weren't top-notch. But yeah, in retrospect, some of my choices are now questionable.  |

I have watched every season since the beginning but gave up on voting long ago, partly because my favorite never made it to the finale. In fact, there has been only one winner across all seasons that I actually wanted to win and that was David Cook. Even he didn't grab my attention until about halfway through the competition.
This season I never decided on a favorite. I am not even sure if I will be disappointed if one or the other finalists wins. I am disappointed that Joshua didn't make it to the finale, although he wasn't really my favorite either. I guess I just like watching the show and posting here on DI more than investing in any particular contestant(s).

Season 1: didn't watch
Season 2: Clay- had voted for Ruben all season but "Bridge Over Troubled Water" was so good!
Season 3: Diana
Season 4: Bo
Season 5: Taylor
Season 6: Don't think I voted but I rooted for Jordin
Season 7: Cook
Season 8: Kris
Season 9: Crystal, even though I was a Lee fan all season. I was so sick of that season that by the time it got to the finale I just didn't give a s***
