Does anyone else think it's possible? I don't completely agree with how they explained it but here's VoteFair's theory, and I'll give my opinions afterwards. This is not exactly word for word what they say, but here's the gist of it:
1.If Hollie was 4th out of 7th, that means that those 2 along with Phillip are currently the most popular 3.
2.Skylar is receiving a concentration of votes from country fans.
3.Colton and Phillip are getting the teen girl vote.
4.Joshua hit the bottom 3 last week so he may not last much longer.
5.The remaining votes will be split between Jessica, Elise and Hollie. Elise and Hollie are obviously on the losing end of the split due to the Jessica shocker.
5.Assuming that Phil, Colton and Skylar are the top 3, one of Phil or Colton will go down to votes being split among the young female voters.
Overall this seems very plausible, but I do wonder if Joshua being the token black contestant could put him ahead of Jessica or Phillip. Also keep in mind that just because Phillip and Colton haven't hit the bottom 3 yet doesn't mean they won't. Phillip is considerably getting closer to it each week. |

Well, it's certainly possible, since the country idols have been trending very well...especially in recent seasons.
Josh Gracin finished 4th
Carrie Underwood 1st
Bo Bice 2nd (obviously wasn't country when he was on the show but that's where he's at now)
Kellie Pickler 6th
Bucky Covington 8th
Phil Stacey tied for 5th (not sure if he was country, but that's where he ended up)
Kristy Lee Cook 7th
Danny Gokey 3rd (again, not sure if he was country, but that's where he ended up)
Casey James 3rd (he's got a current top 20 country hit)
Scotty McCreery 1st
Lauren Alaina 2nd
Given the results of the past three years, it's trending well for Skylar's chances...
